The Ruff and Ruby Rooms

THE RUFF & RUBY ROOMS is our iconic AWARD WINNING COMMUNITY HUB /. SOCIAL ENTERPRISE right in the heart of the city centre @ The Potteries centre (next to Scotts).

The upper floor of the venue is also home to our staff team and provides us with a city centre base to work out into the community from.

The Ruff & Ruby Rooms is a dynamic community space. Its intention is to provide a RETAIL / ENTERPRISE EXPERIENCE ON PURPOSE, to infuse a sense of belonging & home whilst offering OPPORTUNITY & PURPOSE through its creative programs & engagements. We are currently open 4 days a week for the general public to access for shopping, socialising, donating and relaxing (opening times/days can be found on our facebook page and are updated regularly: @ruffandruby

The venue also delivers an engaging FUTURE YOU – WORK:IT program to develop employability and work readiness skills in 18-25s, along with being a Kickstart placement for 16-24 yr olds. We also run an innovative VOLUNTEERING SCHEME that anyone aged 13 plus can apply for with no maximum age! [we have volunteers 13-65]. See our ‘get involved page’.

Creative media pieces are played in store & urban art adorns the walls presenting positive & inspirational messages along with innovative themed window displays and SLOGAN TEE SHIRT campaigns add value to the wider work of the charity.

RUFF & RUBY Youth Charity promotes positive self esteem & aspirations in young people to be ‘the best version of themselves’.

In Store, We are currently running 🦋THE CAITLIN FUND 🦋featured on the BBC Midlands tonight program (see our facebook page: ruffandruby) which is a project dedicated to mental health & suicide prevention in young people, after Caitlin sadly took her own life, at the age of 20, last year. Caitlin’s clothing was put into store to raise awareness & raise funds to kick start the project & to bring ‘life from her death’ to other young people who may be struggling.

We are working with her friends &  family to ensure  that her clothing rail is sustained with clothing donated  from her generation to see  transformation  – the money raised is  going towards ‘early help interventions’ that tackle poor mental health and low self esteem, this project is called WORTHY –  where we will work with a number of young girls in crisis over a year on all levels .

ALWAYS WORTHY. ALWAYS GOOD ENOUGH’  is a POSITIVITEE range inspired by Cailtlin & influenced by Mum, Kay, to also raise awareness of mental health & bring in revenue to support ‘more Caitlins’.
